Description
This work evolved through initially looking at the unripe seedpods of a canna plant. In the UK these plants don't have enough time to bear fruit after the wonderful showy flowers so I was inspired to create huge bulbous ceramics based on these disappointing pods.

  • This series came out of looking closely at the sad canna plant - it's all mouth and no trousers, lovely showy flowers but in this country it never sets seed.

    The ceramics takes the form of the huge bulbous seed pods we hardly ever see.
