Live performance. Part one: BLOOD IS THE NEW BLACK
 
To beclear- Blood is the new black is not a fukking fashion statement. Its a comment on the current state of the nation (dealing with notions of Transferral ofblame and accountability?!)
 
That being said, in South Africa: Paranoia, Fear and violence are totally still in vogue!
 
Using aspects of and reference to local tribal ritual practice and or sacrifice forthe elders, my piece was constructed to evoke. An offering of self,Fear, blind faith and questioning thereof.
 
Must we all suffer such pain, trauma, loss of life before anything will be done?

Live Performance:Part Two: My Body of Art AKA The A/P Series: "I WILL NOT BLEED FOR YOU"
 
Playing with the fine art convention of creating a Body of art I literally used this convention for this series of work. Creating a series of minimalism inspired shapes(with my anatomy in mind for suited placement). Then created a silkscreen withall the shapes hybridised into geometric Totem shape if you will. No A/P or Artist print were made as I am the A/P myself. I just went straight into editioning.   Then in ending the series after 8 Prior sittings at my Tattoo artists studio (Tattoolya: Marisa Noordergraaf ) My final tattoo was a dating and signing. so bringing the series to a close.
